On January 8 at 5 p.m. West Parry Sound OPP officers responded to a disturbance on the Henvey Inlet First Nation.

A person fled the scene, who police described as "armed and dangerous."
At the time police warned the public to stay away from the area and shelter in a place of safety until further notice.
Michael Ashawasega , 27, of Henvey Inlet First Nation is now charged with:
- Two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon
- Three counts of assaul
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Failing to comply with a probation order
Ashawasega remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on January 13..
Assisting in the arrest was the Critical Incident Command, Aviation Services, Tactical and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, OPP Provincial Liaison Team, and Detachment Crime Unit.
