OLG hands out big cheque to City of North Bay for new casino

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

The Cascades Casino opened in North Bay in Mid-March 2022.

The Ontario Lottery and Game Corporation has made a first quarter payment of $398,725 to the City of North Bay for hosting Cascades Casino North Bay. 

Since the gaming site opened in March 2022, the OLG states that North Bay has received $505,859

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic recovery, infrastructure development and job creation.  Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario – 100 per cent of OLG’s profits are reinvested in the province.

Over the past seven years, service providers have invested an estimated $1.8 billion in private sector capital development across the province. 

Since 2017, these investments have led to the development and opening of six new casinos, with two more currently under construction.  In addition, a number of existing casinos have been enhanced and/or expanded.

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $1.86 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
