A registered nurse and a personal support worker were recognized recently for their efforts on the job at the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
Golden Heart Awards were presented to Lisa Jenkins, RN, and Alex Joksimovic, PSW, on C1 for the impact they had on a visitor's experience.
“Over the past year, I’ve spent a lot of time visiting friends and loved ones at the hospital and observed an outstanding healthcare worker that I believe deserves recognition," said the unnamed donor who recognized Jenkins.
"Lisa Jenkins, RN, consistently demonstrated exceptional care and compassion. Regardless of what my friends or loved ones were experiencing, she treated them with dignity and respect so they felt valued as a person first and foremost."
An anonymous donor also recognized Joksimovic.
"PSW Alex Joksimovic is top-notch," the unnamed donor stated.
"I witnessed him doing whatever needed to be done – without hesitation, to keep patients comfortable while also treating them with dignity and respect. Thank you for the work you do!”
These exceptional staff went above and beyond at NBRHC, inspiring them to make a Grateful Family donation to the Foundation.
The Golden Heart Award is given through the Grateful Family donation where a staff member, physician, volunteer or department is recognized by a patient or a family's patient.
Those honoured from the donation are recognized at staff meetings, on the hospital blog, and are awarded a golden heart badge for their name tag.
