Even longtime residents of the city won't recognize "Bloomers" as a familiar downtown establishment.
That's because the “Mums the Word” production team has chosen Art on Main to be part of the movie presently shooting in town.
Art on Main, the downtown artists’ collective, has been chosen as a main location for the filming of the Hallmark mystery “Mums the Word.”
The warm brick interior of the gallery was a perfect venue to become “Bloomers”, an artsy flower shop owned by the film’s central character played by actress Brooke Shields.
As an added bonus, the film’s production designer was able to choose artwork created by members of Art on Main for the flower shop and other shooting locations in the city.
Members of the production team have been generous in their praise of the work in the North Bay gallery says a news release from the group.
David Anselmo, local producer said; “As a Northern Ontarian, I am proud to be able to showcase this beautiful city and the beautiful gallery as a featured piece in our movie. Everyone at Art on Main and all the wonderful citizens of North Bay have been so welcoming to our crew and our production. We are extremely happy to be here in North Bay.”
You will get to see how Art on Main and other locations were transformed when “Mums the Word” is released early next year.
Art on Main will reopen on November 12th when the crew moves on to other locations.
