North Bay woman charged with drug trafficking offences

The accused was known to police to be wanted on outstanding warrants

The North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a 22-year-old woman with drug trafficking offences on July 19. 

The North Bay Police Service conducted a traffic stop on Fisher Street on that day. 

Police say officers stopped a vehicle operated by the accused. The accused was known to police to be wanted on outstanding warrants. Officers arrested the accused on the strength of these warrants. A search incident to arrest by police of the accused at the time revealed a quantity of illegal drugs. The accused was then charged with drug trafficking offences.

The accused in this incident is Lexie Marie Bouchard, female, age 22 of North Bay, who is charged with:

  • One count of Traffic in Schedule I substance
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • One count of Failure to comply with release order

Searches by police resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 18 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately $3,160 in Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $8,200.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
