This September marks the 41st anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope.

People across Canada will come together to honour the courageous spirit of this young man by fundraising for cancer research at The Terry Fox Run on Sunday, September 19th.

"As much as we hoped that 2021 would allow for a full return to The Terry Fox Run as we know it, we are still in the midst of a pandemic that is shifting and evolving in unexpected ways," says Carla Tucker, North Bay organizer. "With the support and encouragement of the Terry Fox Foundation, the North Bay run on September 19 will remain virtual this year but that does not mean we are sitting still."

A virtual event takes place on Monday, August 9th at 8 p.m. on CBC for Terry Fox -The Power of One Featuring Alessia Cara, Tom Cochrane and William Prince.

"To help foster a sense of community and excitement on Run Day, the Foundation will be offering a Virtual Run Show that will be personalized to the North Bay community and available to all participants," adds Tucker.

The Virtual Run Show will feature breakfast tips from a celebrity chef, a musical performance, a warm-up routine, and heartfelt messages of thanks from the Fox Family and Canadian celebrities.

Terryfox.org has also launched a brand-new website making it easier than ever before to register and fundraise online.
