North Bay Pride has hired its first-ever executive director, Jocelyn Green.

"A dedicated advocate for the 2SLGBTQ+ community, Green brings years of experience and a deep passion for fostering inclusivity and equality. Having previously served on the North Bay Pride Board of Directors, she is no stranger to the organization’s mission and the work it does to uplift the community," says a news release.

"As Executive Director, Green will lead the organization in its continued growth, ensuring North Bay Pride remains a powerful voice for advocacy, education, and celebration in the region. She will oversee event planning, community outreach, and strategic initiatives that support the 2SLGBTQ+ community and its allies."

“I am truly honoured to step into this role and continue the incredible work that North Bay Pride has been doing for years,” said Green. “As someone who has been part of this community and served on the Board, I know firsthand the impact that Pride can have on people’s lives. I am excited to work alongside our dedicated team to build on our successes and create an even stronger, more inclusive future for North Bay.”

Matty Reid, president of the North Bay Pride Board, expressed enthusiasm about Green’s appointment. “Jocelyn has been a steadfast advocate and leader within our community, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her as our first executive director. Her commitment, experience, and vision will be instrumental in strengthening North Bay Pride and ensuring its sustainability for years to come. Jocelyn is no stranger to this fight for equity, inclusion and diversity.”

With Green at the helm, the organization hopes to expand its initiatives, deepen community connections, and champion the rights of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

"This milestone reflects a broader commitment to meaningful change, ensuring that resources and strategic efforts are in place to address community needs from within," says the release.
