The North Bay Police Service has added another experienced officer.
Constable Catherine Bernard, an experienced officer from Peel Regional Police Service, was officially sworn in at headquarters earlier this week as Chief Longworth presented her with her warrant card and badge.
This year the service has hired two experienced officers along with a group of rookie recruits.

Back in April, the service had five recruits sworn in during a police awards ceremony.
During that event, new Chief Daryl Longworth admitted it is becoming harder to find good recruits.
"Staffing across all sectors it is getting harder and harder to find good people," explained Chief Longworth during the April event.
"We try to attract the best, we look for the best, but we are competing with an ever-shrinking pool of talented people so the fact that they have chosen to come here speaks well of the organization because they could have gone anywhere and they have chosen this community and this organization which is good for us. We need that new life coming in."
