Most kids go back to school with the blues, but not Corri Fell and Adam Newton (pictured in CNW photograph). They are heading back to class boasting the title of the Fastest Kids in Canada. Fell and Newton won the NikeRunDown national finals on Sunday at Downsview Park in Toronto. Thirty regional finalists from Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax, Montreal and Toronto
participated in 35 metre head-to-head sprint races.

The top three fastest times for boys and girls in Canada are as follows:
Adam Newton, age 17, West Ferris High School, North Bay, ON, 4.61 seconds;

Joseph Wilkensen, age 17, Jacques Rosseau, Longueuil, QC, 4.64 seconds;

Christian Upshaw, age 17, St. Patrick's High School, Halifax, NS, 4.65 seconds;

Corri Fell, age 16, Point Grey High School, Vancouver, BC, 5.16 seconds;

Danaka Porter, age 18, Crofton House, Vancouver, BC;

Liza Whitehead, age 17, Johnston Heights, Surrey, BC;

As champions of the NikeRunDown, Corri Fell and Adam Newton will be featured on a large billboard in their local area, receive a trophy, spend time with elite Nike Canada athletes and have a banner raising in their honour.

"I always knew I was fast, but to be declared the fastest boy in Canada is amazing," Newton said .

"It was really cool to win the trip to Toronto for the finals and to go head-to-head with teens from other cities. I couldn't have done it without my three teammates from Toronto. We came as a team and won as a team."
