North Bay man identified as victim in Highway 11 north crash

The investigation revealed that a car was travelling southbound on Highway 11 north near Sand Dam Road when it collided with a northbound transport truck

The North Bay OPP have identified the victim involved in the fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 11 north yesterday as 43 -year-old David Hope of North Bay.

On January 5, at 10:38 a.m., North Bay Detachment officers responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles. 

The investigation revealed that a car was travelling southbound on Highway 11 north near Sand Dam Road when it collided with a northbound transport truck.

The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver of the transport was not injured. The highway was closed between North Bay's Thibeault Hill and Marten River for about six hours.

The investigation is on-going with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team.
