North Bay bypass almost ready to go

Crews are busy cleaning up but some work will be put off till next year.

It won't be long before traffic is back to four lanes for the winter, although some work will be done next spring.

Lara Cantin , Regional Media Advisor for the Ministry of Transporation tells BayToday that, "The construction work on Highway 11 between the Lakeshore Drive interchange and the Highway 11/17 interchange was planned to be complete by end of 2017. While the majority of the work will be completed this year, some work will need to be completed in 2018."

For 2017, work remaining includes some paving, removal of lane delineators, pavement markings, sign installation, guide rail work and placing delineators at median crossover locations.

During the winter, traffic will be restored to four-lane traffic.

The work to be completed in 2018, includes paving, removal of median crossovers, guide rail work, pavement markings and installation of rumble strips. Some lane closures will be required to complete this work.
