In April, Nipissing West OPP responded to nine collisions involving wildlife, so they are putting out a warning.
The collisions involved either a deer, moose, or bear and occurred at all hours of the day. Thankfully, there were no injuries.
In one instance, the officer had to re-direct a moose, off of Highway 69 in Servos Township, towards the opening in the gate.
The highways involved were 17, 64, 64, 144, 539 and 575 within Greater Sudbury, French River, Markstay-Warren, and West Nipissing.
"Wildlife is as happy to see the spring season as the rest of us, out and about, sometimes near highways for the new forage and road salt left over from winter," says a news release.
"Wildlife will continue to be a concern as summer approaches. Open spaces like highways provide relief from biting insects."
Police advise motorists to scan the sides of the road and reduce your speed, as this will significantly increase your reaction time.
