A new gas station is now pumping gas in what was a historical part of the city.

The new gas stop, which includes a County Line store, becomes the first service station directly along the North Bay Bypass within city limits.

The foundation that is going in next to it now is for a car wash.

The new MacEwen Gas Bar is located on the former Dionne Quints and Chamber of Commerce site just off the bypass on the south end of the city.

The city sold the land to Grand Castle Corp. for $1.68 million in December of 2017 and the construction began back in June of 2018.

Back in 2017, there was speculation the land was going to be sold to a group which was going to bring in a Keg and/or Red Lobster restaurant.
