Robb Noon has officially been sworn in as the new mayor of Callander.
The ceremony took place at a Council meeting Monday.
The 16-year council veteran has been the Deputy Mayor since Mayor Hector Lavigne’s passing.

“I’m pleased to continue representing Callander’s constituents," said Noon in a news release.
"Together with Council, I will carry on with the planned projects, enhancements and promotion of our community, while maintaining fiscal responsibility. I believe in a strong family community that everyone can enjoy.”
Noon was born in Callander and grew up in the community. He has a wife, Sheri, and daughter, Caitlin. Together with his wife, he owns Noon Memorials and La Piaza Pizza, located in Callander.
At Monday’s meeting, Council also declared two councillor seats to be vacant as a result of the appointment of Noon as mayor, and the recent passing of Councillor Maurice Turgeon.
