Near North Board loses two high school principals (UPDATED)

A pair of longtime administrators within the Near North School Board have left their respective high schools.

A pair of longtime administrators within the Near North School Board have left their respective high schools.  

According to a Board memo, both Julie Beaudoin, principal at Chippewa Secondary School and Andy Gagne, principal at West Ferris Secondary School have left the Board. 

The Near North Board sent very similar emails' to parents and guardians of the respective schools explaining the situation.  

"The executive team has been working with the school to create an action plan that will maintain stability at the school," the Board stated in a release. 

"As always, the well-being of staff and students is a top priority, while we navigate this situation."

The Board says details about the administration team at Chippewa and West Ferris will be shared when they are confirmed.

According to opengov.ca, Beaudoin has been employed as a principal within the Near North Board since 2010, while Gagne is listed as holding a principal role within the Board since 2011.  

Jay Aspin, Chair of the Near North School Board stated they could not comment on the situation. 

"Their resignations are a personal matter for which I cannot comment," Aspin told BayToday Friday morning.
