Ontario 511 reports that as of 2:30 p.m. Monday, Highway 11 is closed between North Bay and New Liskeard in both directions.
One poster on Facebook reports a truck in the ditch at Red Squirrel Road, a more serious accident at Granite Lake, another before Latchford, and one south of Temagami all within a half-hour of each other.
"Collision on HWY 11 Both Directions between S JCT HWY 65 OP and Thibeault Hill, North Bay. All lanes closed," says Ontario 511.
A number of posters are reporting lots of black ice and slush on the highway.
There is a detour for motorists heading north.
Take Highway 63 to Quebec through Notre Dame/Ville Marie and follow the north highway to New Liskeard.
