Police have seized over 4,400 marijuana plants being grown outdoors.

On September 5, 2004, members of Project “Gateway “ (a joint investigation between members of the Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police service), assisted by the Almaguin Highlands OPP Crime Unit and the Regional Agricultural Crime Team (RACT), executed a search warrant at 2041 Pickerel and Jack Lake Road, Armour Township, Ontario. Police seized over 4,400 Cannabis marijuana plants growing in an outdoor operation. The incident is still under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Section. This operation is part of the 2004 North East Region Eradication Program.
The potential street value of the Cannabis marijuana plants seized is over $4,000,000.
