There's some good news for North Bay mining companies coming out of the PDAC international mining conference which is taking place this week in Toronto.
Representatives from Odyssey Fluid Power, based in North Bay met with prospective clients from around the world at PDAC 2020.
During the event, the organization promoted its ability to provide new rig sales, as well as complete rig overhaul, parts and service support to the exploration drilling industry.
Meantime, the global launch of Drillco.’s new high-efficiency clean-tech Modular Drilling System translated into an immediate sale and generated quite a bit of interest at PDAC 2020.
With a focus on efficiency, durability and longevity, the new clean-tech system was on display and attracted the attention of the global audience attending the international mining convention in Toronto.
Odyssey Fluid Power and Drill Co. were two of the 110 businesses representing the region at the FedNor-funded Northern Ontario Showcase pavilion at the PDAC Conference and Trade Show, which was held in Toronto from March 1-4. Each year, the event brings together approximately 1,000 exhibitors and over 25,000 representatives from 135 countries.
North Bay Mayor Al McDonald attended the PDAC event and was thrilled hearing the positive reputation the mining technology businesses from North Bay have on the world stage.
"It is an opportunity to work with our local mining companies, which we have more than 65 in our city, to support them and help make connections and really show how important mining is to our area. It employs thousands of people in our city," McDonald told CKAT.
"It really showed at this conference how innovative and how important North Bay is to the global mining sector. The local companies have a lot of confidence in expansion and what they are seeing moving down the pipe."
