The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) says masks will be required in patient care areas beginning Monday, but will remain optional in public and staff areas.
The masks will again be required in all patient-designated areas and apply to all patients, care partners, visitors, employees, physicians and contractors.
This decision was determined by the current level of hospitalizations from respiratory viruses and community transmission says a hospital news release.
"Beginning Monday, masks will be required in all areas designated for patient care. This includes all outpatient clinics and waiting areas (medical imaging, lab, clinics) and the Emergency Department. Masks will also be required in all inpatient units (including common spaces)."
Masking remains optional in public and staff areas like hallways, team nursing stations, break and meeting rooms, cafeteria, Tim Hortons and Town Square.
Masks will be available at the main entrances and entrances to units/clinics. Anyone is welcome to wear a mask in areas not listed as required if they wish.
Visitors who feel unwell are asked to postpone visiting loved ones until they feel well.
