It's been an exciting week for North Bay country rock star Cory Marks.

Marks, who has his pilot's license, got an opportunity to fly with Canada's Snowbirds.

The North Bay artist is also paying tribute to The Snowbirds in a new single which will be released on Friday, June 23, and includes an English and French version.

In a very special moment for Marks, the song was played while the Snowbirds were in the air during the Barrie Air Show.

"Memories I’ll cherish forever. It’s one thing to fly with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds team and meet them but to create a brotherhood and lifelong friendships, sharing the passion and love for music, airshows and flying is one of the coolest things on earth," said Marks via social media.

"Lots of flying and a day spent with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds in The City of Barrie where I heard my song 'Snowbirds' live for the first time during another one of their spectacular aerial displays.

"I’ve been dreaming of flying since I was a kid and I owe it all to that amazing team. Find something you love and go after it, dream big!"

Marks has always had a passion for flying. He says his ultimate goal would be to combine a rock concert with an aerial show.

“Flying is therapeutic for me,” Marks said on his site.

“The raw power of a fighter jet, knowing what that pilot is going through when he’s turning, the burners are lit and his face is melting.”

Marks will be spending most of the summer touring around Ontario.
