For twenty-two years Eric Singer has been living his dream of making a living as a professional musician.
Singer says his dad was a huge influence in shaping his career and exposing him to different music genres, he even played in his dad’s band. However, he honed his skills as a drummer and has parlayed his talent into a career that has spanned the professional gamut of bands including Queen, Kiss, and Black Sabbath.
Currently on tour with Alice Copper, the powerhouse rock drummer, took time out before Thursday’s show at Memorial Gardens in the Bay to drop by Music City on Oak Street for a meet and greet with fans.
Singer says being on the road at 48-years-old isn’t the same as when he was in his twenty’s, but says the key to his longevity is focusing on the gig, getting plenty of rest, eating healthy and staying away from the parties.
