Lock your doors at night, thief on the loose

City police are looking for someone who walked through an unlocked house door on Saturday, stole a couple of items, and fled.

It happened just after 2 a.m.

Police only describe the crime scene as being, "a residence in the south end of the city."

The thief grabbed a purse and a television but an occupant of the house woke up and was able to provide a partial description;

• wearing a light coloured shirt and dark pants
• short in stature with light coloured hair.  

Police were called and arrived on scene shortly after. The television was recovered a short distance away as was the purse containing all the contents with the exception of a small amount of cash.
