Local students advance to Ontario Skills Canada final

On Saturday, April 12th, 2008 students from a number of school boards competed in select skilled trades and technology contests at Canadore College of Applied Arts & Technology. Held at six colleges across Ontario, hundreds of students will be participating in these Qualifying Competitions of the Ontario Technological Skills Competition. The following seven contests were offered at each Qualifying Competition location: Carpentry-Individual, Small Powered Equipment, TV and Video Production (Team of 2), Welding, Precision Machining, Culinary Arts and Internet-Web Page Design.
The following North Bay competitors have earned advancement from the Canadore location Qualifying Competition to the OTSC on May 5-7, 2008 at RIM Park and Manulife Financial Sportsplex in Waterloo, Ontario:
