Local Company Goes Hollywood

Euphoria Smoothies, a proven favourite with North Bay residents, will appear in the upcoming Hollywood flick "JUMPER".

Jumper is an exciting new project that is the first of a three-part action adventure trilogy from the director of "Mr. and Mr. Smith".

Jumper, written by Simon Kinberg, based on the Steven Gould novel is directed by Doug Liman and started production August 23, 2006. The cast that features Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Diane Lane, Jamie Bell, and Samuel L. Jackson shot the picture in a number of locations including Toronto, Tokyo, Rome, and New York and is set to be released February 15, 2008.

The story centres on a character that has a near death experience, David Rice, who finds out that he can spontaneously teleport or "jump". Rice and uses his new-found talent to live a lavish lifestyle, all the while courting the girl of his dreams. However, his life changes when he meets a second, more experienced young "Jumper" who makes him aware that there are those who have been hunting and killing Jumpers for centuries. Pursued by the hunters and having unwittingly put his girlfriend in danger, David must now use the gift to stay alive and make things right.

Euphoria plays a key role in one scene where David is having a snack while sitting on top of a Sphinx in Egypt.

The director requested a smoothie specifically because the idea is that the character has “jumped” to the middle of nowhere with a fresh smoothie (you can take a sandwich and a Pepsi anywhere, but a fresh blended Euphoria smoothie drink makes a different statement).
