Well known local businessman John Richardson has passed away.
Richardson was the former owner of the well known Richardson's Hardware store located in downtown North Bay. The iconic local business which also operated as a sports store, ran from 1960 to 1998 when it burnt to the ground.
Richardson was involved in the local Kiwanis Club for nearly half a century. He also helped revive support for the local Ski Hill.
"Lost a good friend last night. John Richardson passed away peacefully. We will miss you greatly. God Speed John," said North Bay Mayor Al McDonald about Richardson.
He was 84.
The funeral visitation will take place at the Martyn Funeral Home on Sunday, December 7th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church on Monday, December 8th at 11:00 p.m.
The family will be accepting donations to either Parkinson’s Society Canada or Kiwanis Nipissing.
