April Leblanc wants to be part of the Near North District School Board and has filed nomination papers to run as trustee.
"I would like the public to know that I am fully devoted to public education and am here for the long haul. With no other political agenda, I am 100 per cent committed to becoming and remaining a school board trustee. I believe that all the parents, students, staff, and families of them are looking for a positive change. My fresh perspective and passion for public education will do just that."
Leblanc has 20 years experience working in finance and revenue.
"This allows me to fully understand the budgeting needs and complex issues that the Near North Board faces. I believe a successful board is a board with diversity. A group of trustees should bring a balance of expertise, experiences new and old, a passion for education, and the ability to listen to and respect the voice of others," Leblanc said in a news release.
