It's the final weekend of the season at the North Bay Heritage Train And Carousel Company.

Update: Predicted bad weather means the railway won't be open this weekend. It will reopen next year in time for Mother's Day.

Due to the cold and inclement weather forecast this weekend-----Saturday, October 7TH, 2023, Sunday, October 8TH, 2023 and Monday, October 9TH, 2023(Thanksgiving Weekend), the Heritage Railway and Carousel company will not be open.

The leaves are changing and a cooler breeze is rolling off Lake Nipissing, so it's that time of year when the faithful volunteers of the North Bay Heritage Train And Carousel Company will begin to store the equipment and look ahead to next year.

But, not before one last weekend of family fun.

Thanksgiving weekend, the "Jewel of the Waterfront" will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until dusk, and Monday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The North Bay Heritage Train And Carousel Company hopes to see you for the last days of operation this season.

"What a wonderful opportunity to start a family Thanksgiving tradition this year by enjoying our beautiful trains and carousels. Kids of all ages are totally enthralled and delighted to ride our hand-carved horses and winter wonderland creatures. We would so love to be part of your family's Thanksgiving tradition. That is precisely why our 135 volunteers come to welcome you to the Jewel of the North Bay Waterfront."

The volunteers recently enjoyed a wind-up buffet meal and were recognized for their efforts. This includes 40-plus teens who are earning volunteer hours in order to graduate from secondary school. Some are even already planning on coming back next summer, according to North Bay Heritage Train And Carousel Company.
"Awesome to see these kids wanting to be here with us."
