Candy will go from this pallet to kid's tummies on Halloween night.

The treat was for the firefighters yesterday.

"The good folks at LE Towing showed up at the door of the fire hall with the largest ever Halloween donation that we have ever had the pleasure of receiving," said an excited Deputy Chief Greg Saunders. "This contribution along with the other generous donations provided by the community should ensure that every child that shows up at the fire station on Tuesday will be treated with a great visit."

Saunders says further donations are still welcome as well over 2,000 children are expected.

The fire department is still looking for:

  • Pumpkins of all sizes
  • Wrapped candy and chips
  • Corn stalks
  • Cash donations

You can drop off your donations at Station 1, located at 119 Princess West.

"For those in need of assistance, we're pleased to arrange pick-up by calling 705-474-5662," says a news release. "Everyone, regardless of age, is invited to attend on October 31, from 5  to 8 p.m. (or until our candy supply lasts), for a delightful evening of Halloween festivities."
