A well known Japanese Restaurant that was destroyed in a March fire, may be making a return to the downtown area.

The Kabuki House Restaurant owners have never confirmed if they will rebuild, but they did state through social media that they may be making a comeback.

“Stay tuned, coming this month, Kabuki House Salad dressing and selected lunch takeout at a location downtown,” officials stated on the Kabuki House Facebook page recently.

No more details have been made available as to which downtown location they are referring to, and the Kabuki Restaurant phone line is disconnected.

The well known Japanese restaurant on Main Street West opened in the late 1980’s.

The fire left no damage to any neighbouring buildings but the blaze completely destroyed the roof of the restaurant, leaving the building an icy ruin.

On June 18, the remains of the charred restaurant were demolished by work crews and Main Street West was closed for a portion of that day as they tore down the rest of the building.
