Mayor Peter Chirico and Coun. Justine Mallah, the chair of community services, gathered with City of North Bay Parks staff to cut the ribbon and officially open the new inclusive playground at Belleview Park on McGibbon Street in Thibeault Terrace.

The play structure features fully accessible portions and an engineered wood fibre play surface, ensuring fun for all abilities. The new accessible paved path and shade tables — funded by the Ontario Government through its Inclusive Community Grants Program — enhance the park's accessibility for everyone.

In July, Parks staff removed the existing equipment at Belleview Park to make way for the new playground. They handled the site preparation, including grading, cribbing, and landscaping.

In April, North Bay City Council awarded a $149,500 contract to New World Park Solutions Inc. for the purchase and installation of the playground equipment.

The previous playground structure had been in use since 2007 and was at the end of its expected life.
