UPDATE POWER RESTORED: Hydro outage in downtown

North Bay Hydro says an immediate outage is required in the downtown core of North Bay due to a hazardous situation on Worthington Street.

On its Twitter account Hydro wrote, "Emergency power outage required at 10:30 a.m. this morning in the downtown core to correct a hazardous situation on Worthington Street."

Reporter Chris Dawson says there are "Two broken switches but will replace three lines. It's a primary line with 2400 volts. Officials trying to minimize the outage and get city hall up as a priority."

Hydro says the damage is weather-related.
