Update: opened, Highway 11 southbound by Huntsville blocked by accident

A 70-year-old Huntsville woman was flown out to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto with serious but not life-threatening injuries

An accident on Highway 11 this morning has closed both southbound lanes near Huntsville.

It happened at 9:40 a.m.

The collision involved a tractor-trailer and a car that were both travelling southbound on Highway 11.

The driver and passenger of the car were injured as a result of the collision.

A 65-year-old man from Huntsville was taken to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital with none life-threatening injures, and a 70-year-old Huntsville woman was flown out to St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The highway is blocked at Lindgren Road.

The Huntsville Detachment of the OPP, Huntsville Lake of Bays Fire Department and Muskoka Paramedics Services responded to the collision.

Officers from the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police, and OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are continuing the investigation and further details will be provided as the investigation proceeds.
