North Bay fire crews are on the scene of a serious collision on Highway 11 North near Collins Road, and the highway is closed in both directions.
"We are currently performing a vehicle extrication to free a person trapped in their vehicle," says Deputy Chief Greg Saunders.
OPP is also on the scene.
The accident happened just before the noon hour.
The roadway is closed from North Bay to Marten River. Motorists can use a detour by driving west on Highway 17 to Sturgeon Falls then take Highway 64 to Marten River.
Alternatively, you can take Highway 63 from North Bay to the Quebec border, then Highway 101 to Temiskaming Shores.
