Original story.

Traffic is backed up just north of North Bay as OPP have closed Highway 11 North because of a pair of unrelated traffic accidents.

Officers are investigating a serious collision on Hwy 11 near Thornloe. The Highway is closed while collision investigators gather evidence. Apparently, two transports collided.

Large amounts of debris need to be cleaned up, say police. There is a detour, Hwy 65 at New Liskeard to Hwy 562 to Hwy 571 to re-enter Hwy 11.

OPP say North Bay to Temiskaming Shores is closed due to multiple collisions and deteriorating weather conditions. Expect delays. If not required to travel then delay your trip.

The second accident apparently is a collision approximately 5 km south of Temagami. Multiple vehicles are blocking the road.

Also, Highway 11 remains closed in both directions between Hwy 101 and Matheson due to a collision between two tractor trailers.. Reopening time is unknown.

Highway 17 had also been closed this afternoon after a single-vehicle accident near Hagar, between Hwy 535 and Labine Rd.

Another two vehicle accident on Highway 17 between Hwy 575 and Cote St. near Verner also closed 17.

Story will be updated as information becomes available.
