Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli rose in the Legislature today, calling on the Wynne government to take immediate action to stop upcoming cuts to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
“Over the last 5 years, 350 frontline healthcare workers have been cut from the North Bay Regional Health Centre. That includes 100 nurses and 60 beds have been closed in this new hospital. This week, between 30 and 40 more healthcare workers will be sent home. We can’t take much more of this!” stated MPP Fedeli in the Legislature today.

Staff wage increases, benefits and escalating hydro costs means the hospital will be unable to balance its upcoming budget, despite hitting budget targets this year.
"This makes them ineligible for $7 million in Working Capital Relief; money the North Bay Regional Health Centre desperately needs," says Fedeli.
“They’re in a no-win, downward spiral.
“Will the Premier re-admit the North Bay Regional Health Centre into the Relief program, allowing them to hit their targets and stop this downward cycle?” concluded Fedeli.
