Hands, the Family Network in North Bay is reporting on its website that they have been a victim of a cyber attack.
"Upon learning of the incident, we immediately took steps to isolate systems and contain the threat," Hands stated on its website.
"We also engaged leading third-party cybersecurity experts to assist with containment, remediation and to conduct a forensic investigation."
However, at this time, Hands claims the impact is likely minimal.
"Our IT and leading third-party cybersecurity experts were able to return our systems to support operations. As a result, the impact on client services was minimal," Hands added.
Hands says a forensic investigation is currently underway.
"If the investigation determines that personal information has been impacted, affected individuals will be directly notified as soon as possible," Bob Pipe, Senior Communications Specialist with Hands added in an email to BayToday.
"We have notified relevant authorities of the incident and are fully cooperating with their investigation.
"We take the security of information in our care very seriously and we are treating the investigation as a top priority." However, sources tell BayToday that Hands had been forewarned that its security was not up to par.
