Guns and drugs seized in drug bust

An additional quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis marihuana was located as well as a two firearms, one handgun confirmed to have been stolen from the Sturgeon Falls area, and a .223 hunting rifle and ammunition.

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit seized guns and drugs and charged two people after a drug bust in the Pinewood area yesterday. 

On February 26 as a result of an ongoing investigation, the Unit arrested two men for Possession for the Purpose of trafficking.

A quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, morphine and cannabis marihuana was seized as well as a motor vehicle used to transport the drugs, plus $2,090 cash.

Then yesterday, the Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a location on the 800 block of Clarence Street. 

An additional quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis marihuana was located as well as a two firearms, one handgun confirmed to have been stolen from the Sturgeon Falls area, and a .223 hunting rifle and ammunition.

The total seizure of narcotics includes;

  • 12,596 Methamphetamine pills
  • 59 grams of Cocaine
  • 117 Morphine pills
  • 4.7 grams of methamphetamine
  • 336 grams cannabis marihuana

The total street value of the drugs is approximately $102,000.

Police charged Ryan O’Hara, 29 years old of Sturgeon Falls with:

  • One count possession for the purpose of trafficking-Methamphetamine
  • Two counts possession of a controlled substance

Adam Dwinnel 30 years old of North Bay, 

  • Five counts possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • One count possession of a controlled substance
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime
  • Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • One count of possession of a prohibited weapon
  • One count of possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition
  • One count possession of a weapon obtained by crime
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited

Police say their investigation is still ongoing.
