Guitarist, singer David Wilcox boogies into town next month

Songwriter plays a blend of rock, blues, country, ragtime and roots styles

Singer, songwriter and Canadian music legend David Wilcox is coming to the Betty Spears Theatre at the Capitol Centre.

If you don't have tickets for the Oct. 17 show just yet, don't wait, get them before they're gone, the centre said in a release.

"If you already have tickets, invite your friends, too!"

A superb entertainer. A master guitar player. A great soulful singer. A unique songwriter.

These are a few of the ways David Wilcox has been described.

"None of them do him justice. Until you have seen Wilcox in concert, you have yet to experience something truly remarkable," the Capitol Centre says.

Multiple gold and platinum albums, countless fans of all ages – these are testimony. His music has been skated to by Olympic champions Sale and Pelletier, his songs have appeared in movies like Cocktail with Tom Cruise.

Wilcox's well-known radio hits include Riverboat Fantasy, The Hypnotizin' Boogie, Do the Bearcat, Layin' Pipe, and Downtown Came Uptown. 

"Whether it's a backyard barbecue, a TV theme (Street Legal), Carnegie Hall, the Montreux Jazz Festival with John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin – the music of David Wilcox is a blend of rock, blues, country, ragtime and other roots styles that keeps evolving and growing."
