Police got a surprise when they stopped a vehicle at a RIDE checkpoint early Saturday.
On August 29, at approximately 2 a.m., North Bay OPP officers were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere spot check on the bypass in North Bay.
A vehicle approached and officers began an investigation, conducting a search of the vehicle and finding drugs suspected to be Fentanyl, cocaine, cannabis and Xanax.
Officers also located a Glock 17 Replica Pistol and shotgun shells.
As a result of a police investigation, three people, all from North Bay, were arrested and charged.
Anthony Grantham, 24, is charged with:
- Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Six counts of possession of a weapon while prohibited
- Obstruct peace officer
- Possession for the purpose of distributing
Braydon Fricker, 22, is charged with:
- Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Three counts of failure to comply with an undertaking
- Two counts of failure to comply with a release order
- Possession for the purpose of distributing
A man, 23, is charged with:
- Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession for the purpose of distributing
All were remanded into custody for a court hearing today.
