The North Bay Museum is keeping with tradition and having its sixth annual "Game On!" Retro Video Game Exhibit and Arcade during the March break.

"Consoles include Atari 2600, Sega Master System, NES, SNES, Gameboy, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Nintendo GameCube, Sega Dreamcast, and Intellivision." says a news release.

"We are setting up our Game On event again this March Break because of the fantastic response from the community," says Museum Curator, Naomi Hehn.  "Retro video gaming allows parents to show their kids the games they grew up playing, for youth to discover a new hobby, and for everyone to have fun together. This event also brings new audiences into the North Bay Museum and introduces them to our other exhibits and events."

Popular games available include Duck Hunt, Super Mario, Smash Bros. and many more

"There will be a variety of consoles dating back 40 years for everyone to come in and enjoy hands-on," says Dan Valent, expert gamer and Museum volunteer. "Guests will be able to see the evolution of home video game technology with consoles they are familiar with and even some they may have never seen before.  It will be such a thrill to see all of this equipment running together in the same place. Consoles will even be plugged into period-correct tube televisions, ensuring the complete retro feel."

There is a $5 admission that includes entry to the museum and one hour of gaming on consoles. Play time may be extended based on availability. Museum staff and volunteers will be on hand to help gamers learn to play a wide variety of games and consoles.

Visitors can book ahead on the museum’s website or buy tickets during March break at the museum based on availability.

The event takes place between March 11-16, from noon till 5.
