Forest fires cropping up including two in the North Bay area

The forest fire hazard is showing low to high, with the areas of most concern situated in the central portion of the region

The warm weather is pushing the forest fire hazard in northeastern Ontario up and that has led to a number of new forest fires, including two in the North Bay area.  

On Sunday, two new fires were reported including North Bay 5 which is not under control at 0.10 of a hectare. 

By Monday afternoon five new fires have been discovered in the North including North Bay 6 which is also not under control at 0.1 of a hectare. 

The forest fire hazard is showing low to high, with the areas of most concern situated in the central portion of the region.

    •    To report a forest fire located south of the French or Mattawa rivers, please dial 911.
