When a male driver of a pickup truck fled the scene after hitting a telephone pole at the 900 block of Beattie Street late Friday night a witness called police.
Police found the driver on Cedar Heights Road shortly thereafter.
The unnamed man was arrested and charged with “fail to remain” and also charged with “driving while ability impaired” and “driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in blood” under the Criminal Code; as well as possession of marijuana under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused is a 24-year old North Bay man,
He was released with a court date scheduled for Tuesday, November 18.
Meanwhile over the weekend, North Bay Police responded to 269 calls for service that resulted in nine arrests.
Offences included public intoxication; domestic assault; domestic mischief; assault; mischief; fail to remain; impaired driving; possession of marijuana; and breaches.
