Flames were visible after a collision occurred on Highway 17 this afternoon between North Bay and Sturgeon Falls.
OPP are reporting the accident occurred between Mosquito Creek Road and Landfill Site Road, which one witness says is west of Eagles Nest Gas Bar.
Flames were visible along with heavy smoke in the collision which involved a transport and another smaller vehicle.
OPP say a detour is available at Highway 11 to Highway 64.
OPP updated at around 6 p.m. that they do not know when the highway will be re-opened.
"Highway 17 is closed West of North Bay for a serious collision. Traffic collision experts are on scene to collect evidence," the OPP Northeast Region stated via Twitter.
