Firefighters battle Worthington Street house fire in bone-chilling cold

The fire call came in around 1:38 a.m.

Firefighters battled the bone-chilling cold as they tried to extinguish a house fire on Worthington Street in North Bay.

The fire call came in for the blaze near the corner of Worthington and Morris just before 2 a.m. Monday morning.

Temperatures close to -30 with the wind chill did not help firefighters battle the fire.

Fire crews, which included four pumper trucks, were still on the scene dousing hot spots around 6:15 a.m.

The home appeared to have sustained serious fire damage.

No word on a cause or if anyone was injured, however, witnesses say an ambulance was at the scene.
