North Bay Fire Crews responded to a call this afternoon on Lakeshore Drive that resulted in the residence having the Hydro plug pulled.
Fire Inspector Joe Gardiner advised BayToday.ca that shortly after one o’clock this afternoon fire crews answered the call at 30 Lakeshore Drive, where they were met by residents of the home who were complaining of an electrical burning smell.
Crews investigated the scene and discovered a sump pump had over heated and in turn North Bay Hydro attended to secure the electricity at the scene and unplugged the hydrometer.
Gardiner says the damage is minimal, however, the state of the electrical work in the home has given cause for concern and power will not be restored until the Electric Safety Authority inspects the premises.
