Ferris Glen set to host Annual Fall Fair

Ferris Glen Public School kicks off the school year with their Annual Fall Fair scheduled for September 11.

The Ferris Glen Fall Fair is a traditional country fair which encourages entries by the students in the following categores: Vegetables, Flowers, Animals, Eggs, Cookies & Baking, Hobbies & Crafts. In the morning, students dress in their best country attire and the entire school is decorated. Students will bring in their “fall fair entries” and the school will bustle with the sounds of roosters crowing, ducks quacking and hamsters’ wheels whirring.

You will see tall sunflowers, stuffed scarecrows, fancy desserts and creative vegetable people! This is truly a traditional country fair!

In the evening, from 5 to 6pm, the school is host to a huge school community pot luck supper. Everyone is invited and asked to bring their favourite dish. The staff prepares delicious country hams to complement the salads, casseroles, vegetable dishes and desserts brought in by the parents. After dinner, visitors are welcome to view the exhibits, meet the teachers and visit with one another in the wonderful atmosphere of the traditional country fair.

A Scholastic Book Fair also takes place on this evening offering parents & students the opportunity to purchase high quality books at reasonable prices.
