UPDATE; Police report (Female bicyclist struck by car)

The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries

Update:

Police today blamed the bicyclist for yesterday's accident on Lakeshore.

Police say their investigation, which involved the assistance of a Forensic Identification Officer, concluded that the car, which was travelling northbound towards the overpass from Lakeshore Drive, crossed Judge Avenue on a green light and struck the bicycle.

The cyclist failed to yield to traffic while riding eastbound on Judge Avenue across Lakeshore Drive, along the pedestrian crosswalk, and on the wrong side of the road.

No charges were laid.

Traffic was backed up for several blocks in the northbound lanes of the Lakeshore Drive overpass shortly after 2 p.m. today when a car hit a female cyclist at the  Lakeshore-Judge intersection. Southbound traffic from overpass moving slowly.

The woman was taken by ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The male driver of the grey 4-door sedan that struck cyclist was visibly shaken by the accident says a witness.

An officer on site says the "investigation is ongoing" but confirmed the car was proceeding straight through to access the overpass when the bicycle crossed in front of it.

The northbound lane of the overpass was closed but has since re-opened.
