A collision between a tractor-trailer and a small tractor on Highway 11 yesterday led to a secondary collision involving multiple other vehicles and the death of a Gravenhurst man.
The accident happened at 8:22 Thursday morning on Highway 11 at the Severn River Bridge.
The highway was closed for several hours in both directions as officers, as well as the OPP Traffic Collision Reconstructionist investigated the accident.
As a result of the collision 59 year old Norman Brandt from Gravenhurst was pronounced dead at the scene and a 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be released as information becomes available say police.
Officers from the Bracebridge OPP responded to the multiple-vehicle collision with emergency crews from the Gravenhurst Fire Department, Severn Fire Department, Muskoka Emergency Medical Services and Simcoe Emergency Medical Services as well as officers from the Bracebridge OPP, Orillia OPP and Central Region Traffic Investigation, Management and Enforcement Team, responded to the collision.
