One person is dead and five others are injured after a collision on Highway 17 east of Mattawa yesterday afternoon.
Two vehicles were involved say police. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two drivers and two passengers were rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident happened just after noon near the Nipissing/Renfrew Twp Boundary.
Highway 17 between Mattawa and Pembroke has been reopened after being closed for approximately nine hours.
North Bay OPP, the Mattawa Fire Department and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team also assisted with the investigation, which is ongoing.
