Farms of North Bay

The museum’s “Coffee and Conversations” group, who meet monthly to talk about local history, were also able to help identify local farms.

Discovery North Bay Museum is excited to hold an opening for “Farms of North Bay”, a photo exhibit curated by volunteer Pat Moulson. The exhibit features twelve photos of historic local farms accompanied by maps and a slideshow of supplementary local farming images.

Creating this exhibit was truly a community effort.  Moulson conducted research primarily by talking to local farmers. The museum’s “Coffee and Conversations” group, who meet monthly to talk about local history, were also able to help identify local farms. The museum also got some help from the public by posting pictures of unidentified farms on our website.

“With so many people interested in sustainable local farming, this exhibit is a great way to get a glimpse of the history of farming in the region.” Director/Curator Naomi Rupke

The museum welcomes all exhibit contributors and the public to an opening reception at 2 pm on Thursday July 7th. Local farmers will be invited to attend the opening.

Location:  Discovery North Bay Museum, 100 Ferguson Street, North Bay, ON

Time: July 7th at 2 pm
